In the USA they know all about hotels and events. The love a good meeting and think nothing of flying round the US of A for single meetings. It’s a bit like catching a bus (or train).

The hotels make a stack of money when conventions hit the town because the delegates pile into the hotels and take up room ‘beds’. It’s big business.

It’s such big business that they are all over the numbers. Well, some are some aren’t but the big brands are, especially now they are owned by the money people (PE companies) not the family owned hoteliers of yester year.

Our guest in this interview is David Lund, the Hotel Financial Coach and in this interview we take a look at how the hotels manage and measure their business. Could we learn a thing or two in our event venues in the UK?
